Professor Kiko Mora(Ph.D. The Ohio State University) is professor of the Semiotics of Advertising and Culture Industries in the Department of Communication and Social Psychology at the Universidad de Alicante (Spain). Since 2010, his main research focus has been investigating Spanish music and dance in musical theater, early cinema, and early recording industry in the United States.
He has been a visiting scholar at the International Center for Music Studies (University of Newcastle, 2011) and the Foundation for Iberian Music (City University of New York, 2017), Among his extensive publications, Mora is the co-editor of Rock around Spain. Historia, industria, escenas y medios de comunicación (2013). His most recent book is titled De cera y goma-laca. La producción de música española en la industria fonográfica estadounidense (2018).
